The Reverend Dr Hester Jones has been appointed Senior Chaplain and Dean of Chapel with effect from the beginning of the summer term, known as Cloister Time.
Hester is currently part time Senior Lecturer in English at the University of Bristol and part time vicar of Abbots Leigh in the Diocese of Bristol. Hester studied at Cambridge and has worked previously at Liverpool University. She loves to write and teach in the areas of poetry, theology, and gender studies, and is writing a book about depth and Christian faith in poetry of the twentieth century.
On joining the College, Hester commented: “I am excited to be joining Winchester College as Senior Chaplain, and to be bringing together in one place the different sides of my calling.
