Where timings are specific to day pupils, they will be highlighted in dark blue.

Research and Register

10 Year

  • Find out more about our Sixth Form, including the financial support that is available for eligible pupils.

  • Have a 1:1 chat with a Sixth Form Advisor and ask any questions about our Sixth Form experience.
  • Please contact admissions@wincoll.ac.uk to organise your meeting.

11 Year

  • Please complete and submit the Application Form by 5 October. Read more about our courses and entry requirements here. You can also request a form from admissions@wincoll.ac.uk.
  • Overseas candidates should arrange to sit UKiset assessment tests, ensuring that results reach us by 5 October 2021.
  • All applications are reviewed and a shortlist drawn up. We will contact all applicants via email, by the end of the month. 
  • If your are shortlisted, we will ask for payment of the £375 Registration Fee.

  • If you are shortlisted and would like to apply for a bursary, please complete and submit the Bursary Application Form. Alternatively you can request a form from the Bursary office on +44(0)1962 621138 or bursaries@wincoll.ac.uk.
  • The deadline for bursary applications is 1 November.

  • Book your place on this later Sixth Form Open Day which will take place on 13 November, if you are applying as a day pupil.

Assessment and Preparation

11 Year

  • We will invite you to attend an interview and sit assessments at the school.

  • Please complete and submit the Application Form by 1 December. You can also request a form from admissions@wincoll.ac.uk.
  • All applications are reviewed and a shortlist drawn up. We will contact all applicants via email, by the end of the month. 
  • If your are shortlisted, we will ask for payment of the £375 Registration Fee.

Place confirmed

11 Year

  • We will let you know the result of your interview on 1 December in accordance with HMC guidelines.
  • If you are offered a place, please accept the offer in writing within seven days. 
  • If you applied for a bursary, you will be informed of this decision at the same time. 

  • If you would like to apply for a bursary, please complete and submit the Bursary Application Form. Alternatively you can request a form from the Bursary office on +44(0)1962 621138 or bursaries@wincoll.ac.uk.
  • The deadline for bursary applications from day pupils is 5 January.

  • We will invite you to attend an interview and sit assessments at the school in mid-January.
  • We will let you know the result of your interview within seven days. If you are offered a place, please accept the offer in writing within seven days. 
  • If you applied for a bursary, you will be informed of this decision at the same time.

  • In early January you will be sent the Parent Contract and accompanying documents by email.
  • Please sign the Acceptance Form and pay the deposit by the end of January. Find out more about fees and deposits here.

  • You will be invited to a Sixth Form Induction day where senior staff and current Sixth Form pupils will guide you through what to expect when you join in September.

  • We would expect anyone who has been offered a place to achieve the required GCSE results. Everyone with a confirmed place is required to send official confirmation of their results to the Admissions team, when these are published in August.

Join the School

12 Year

  • Your Housemaster will welcome you and be your main point of contact throughout your time at Winchester.
  • In the first few weeks of term, pupils will have a full schedule of activities every day so that they can learn about what is on offer at Winchester and they can start to form friendships.
  • We understand the importance of your first day, week, month, and term with us. The House teams, dons (teachers), and support staff devote time and care to ensure that each pupil settles in and has a happy, successful experience at Winchester.
