BBC Young Chorister of the Year Finalist

Many congratulations to William Newport (Year 10, Morshead's), who has made it to the finals of the BBC Young Chorister of the Year. William is one of just three boys from across the country in the final, which will be aired on Sunday 11 December at 13:15 on BBC Two.

Supported by his parents and Winchester singing teacher, Claire Rutter, William progressed through the semi-finals, which were broadcast last Sunday, with a beautiful performance of 'Pie Jesu' by Fauré. In the short interview below, William talks about the experience.

Music Award

Will is the recipient of a Music Award at the College, which recognises exceptional musical talent. In addition to singing, he plays the trumpet in the school's orchestra.
