original thinking

SINCE 1382

Winchester College | Independent Boarding School

Welcome to Winchester College. Founded in 1382, Winchester has the longest continuous history of any school in England. We offer full boarding for boys aged 13-18, with day and boarding places for Sixth Form boys and girls.

Encouraging Original Thought

For nearly 650 years, an education at Winchester has offered more than academic excellence in a beautiful setting.

Pupils are immersed in an environment where original thought is celebrated, curiosity is encouraged, and they are prepared to lead lives of purpose.

Nothing speaks more powerfully in this respect than our unique commitment to ‘Div’, a non-examined subject taught to all year groups.

Transcending conventional subject boundaries for the sheer pleasure of learning, pupils have the chance to discuss ideas, opinions and to challenge conventions.
