Outreach

Maths Summer School Returns to Winchester

Throughout the pandemic, the Maths department has managed to maintain its outreach work with local schools and families, with a raft of weekly support sessions continuing through difficult circumstances.

We are delighted that the annual Winchester Maths Summer School can take place in person this year. The residential Summer School is for Year 12 students from maintained sector schools who are considering studying maths at university.

Inspiring Environmental Action

The pupils of local prep school Cheam School, near Newbury, have recently embarked on their own Eco-Schools project, to drive change and improve environmental awareness in their school, local community and beyond. They asked Winchester College for a motivational speaker who could talk knowledgeably about sustainability and the empowerment of young voices, and on Tuesday 8 March, Sixth Form pupil Dev Sharma visited Cheam to give a talk and answer questions.
