This term the Sports Department welcomed Freya Jones as our new Athletic Development Coach. Freya is the current British Javelin Champion and plans to compete in this year’s European and World Championships, as well as the Commonwealth Games. Freya attended the University of Georgia on an athletic scholarship and became NCAA Champion in the javelin during her time there.
Funded by the Al Gordon Sports Fund, Freya has joined to help with the delivery of the school's Strength & Conditioning programme, as well as our Athletics provision. She is also working with the cricket team on their throwing technique.
Director of Sport Mark Burley said "Freya is a great role model and someone our pupils will be able to learn a huge amount from. She brings a lot of energy, as well as expertise, to training sessions."

Over the Easter break, two Winchester College cricket squads travelled to the United Arab Emirates to compete in the Arch Trophy and the U15 Arch Cup.

On Saturday 4 February, the school will gather to watch XVs - the biggest game of the Winchester College Football season - which sees Commoners and OTH battle to lift the 'Pearl Pot' trophy.
