Aurélien Vieilleville

Head of French and Assistant Housemaster of Fearon’s

Having moved to Winchester from my native France, I am now in my tenth year of teaching here. Working in such an environment is incredibly stimulating and rewarding, with students who are eager to reach their full potential and colleagues who share a passion for their subjects.

There are many different facets to boarding life, which means that dons have diverse responsibilities and environments in which they can get to know the boys. For example, I get to know all those boys who study French, those who live in Fearon’s boarding house, as well as those who are regular visitors to the PE Centre, where I am Master in Charge of Strength and Conditioning. This ability to provide pastoral care both inside and outside of the classroom is something that I particularly cherish at Winchester.
