On Tuesday 17 January, students from UTC Portsmouth, one of our partner secondary schools, joined members of AstroSoc (our pupil-led astronomy club) for an evening of astrophysics. They viewed Mars and Jupiter through the telescope in the observatory and did some virtual stargazing identifying planets, satellites and constellations using Stellarium online planetarium.
This was followed by a talk on Gravitational Waves and Gamma Rays from Dr. Martin Pohl, Head of Theoretical Physics at DESY, the fundamental physics research centre.

As part of our Outreach programme, Sixth Form pupils worked closely with the cast and crew of the Blue Apple theatre company to bring their latest production to the stage.

As part of our Maths Outreach programme, 55 children from local primary schools sat the Primary Maths Challenge at the College in November, which was followed by a celebration event attended by the Deputy Mayor of Winchester together with their families and teachers.
