'Physics Partners' Online Physics Festival

17th July 2021

Winchester College was proud to be involved in the Physics Partners Online Physics Festival which took place on Saturday 17 July 2021.

Physics teachers Mr Jeremy Douglas and Dr Jamie Barron joined a team of physics specialists from Physics Partners to deliver training in this virtual event, attended by 62 teachers and technicians from around the country.  Their sessions were on ‘misconceptions in mechanics’, ‘electromagnetic connections’ and ‘challenges and misconceptions in electrical circuits’.

The event was a great success and we would like to thank Bryan Berry from Physics Partners who organised the event and Sarah Cosgriff who gave a keynote speech on ‘improving diversity in physics’ which addressed the gender imbalance in those choosing to study physics.

The sessions were recorded and will be available on our Empower YouTube channel, available to our partner state secondary schools.  Please contact Mrs Hannah Fletcher, Head of Educational Partnerships for more information.
