Soccer is played in Short Half at Winchester and caters for all abilities. There are many School teams and at times 17 are put out in inter School fixtures. These range from the 1st XI to Yearlings D. House Football leagues thrive and cater for non-School A team players; Flower Pot for Seniors and Ellis Pot for the Juniors are keenly contested throughout the term. Two primary House cup competitions provide opportunities for Houses to field their best XI; Chawker Pot in the Senior School and Foster Pot in the Junior School.

Over and above the full and varied fixture lists faced by the School teams, regular training sessions are organised during the week. The Senior Soccer Squad has an annual pre-season training week in Holland. Junior School teams have recently taken part in International Tournaments in Holland at Easter with some success.

The School has superb pitches and excellent ground staff. School Soccer could not function without the enthusiasm of a large number of dons in Common Room who represent a broad cross-section, whether by age or experience, and all work around the School's first full-time Soccer Professional, Mr Jason Dodd, formerly of Southampton.
