Teacher of Geography

The School seeks to appoint a Geography graduate to teach throughout the School. This full time appointment will commence on 1 September 2015. There are four full-time members of the department. Appropriate housing will be provided.

Job Description
• The appointee will be capable of teaching to Pre-U standard.
• He or she will report to the Head of Geography.
• Participation in the School's cultural and/or sports programme is essential.
• All dons must be involved in tutoring in a boarding house.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The School seeks to appoint a full-time, experienced Administrative Assistant to work as part of the Winchester College Society team. The essential skill required is a comprehensive ability to use our technology, so enabling efficient and effective work in this busy and demanding function. Applicants should, as a minimum, hold intermediate MS Office skills, including Excel and Publisher, and have experience and knowledge of the workings of a database. TEAM LEADER
Within the Central Cleaning team this role will provide supervisory level support to the Facilities Manager throughout the year. The successful applicant will be required to work hands-on with the team on standard tasks and will be the designated person for evening events. ASSISTANT HOUSEKEEPER
The Warden's Lodgings team is looking for someone who knows how to deliver a high standard of customer care in a private house. Duties include service to table, cleaning and caring for guests. The Scholars Boarding House (College) has a vacancy for a reliable Domestic to carry out general cleaning duties. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and able to work both on their own and as part of a team, and should display a high level of integrity and attention to detail. FOOD DISTRIBUTION & CATERING ASSISTANT
Winchester College is seeking a responsible and organised person to work as part of an in-house team, providing a food distribution service and assisting the Catering team to maintain the cleanliness of the College Kitchen and its equipment. A full UK Driving Licence is essential, and applicants must be aged 25 years or over (for motor insurance purposes) and be physically fit enough to cope with the demands of the job. These will include the lifting and moving of catering equipment and supplies around the College, and there may also be a need to move some heavy items in order to set up for events. This is a term-time only post with 39 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, 12 noon to 7.00pm.

LAUNDRY ASSISTANT - WINCHESTER COLLEGE
An opportunity has arisen for a reliable person to work in the College Laundry, mainly during term time, and also to assist with the collection of laundry from the Boarding Houses as necessary. This work may involve moving some heavy items. The post is for an average of 27 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 1.00pm and alternate Saturday mornings, 8.00am to 12.00 noon.

WYKEHAM SPORTS CLUB ADMINISTRATOR (PART-TIME) - WINCHESTER COLLEGE
A very well organised person with excellent interpersonal and IT skills is required to work 22.75 hours per week in the Enterprises Department. The role will primarily focus on the administration of the membership of the Wykeham Sports Club and Squash Club and the letting of PE facilities, along with some general office work, and will be based at the P E Centre. This is a year-round position and the working pattern will be Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday - 7.30 am to 2.30 pm, with alternate Sundays - 9.00 am to 2.30 pm.

HANDYMAN/WOMAN - WINCHESTER COLLEGE
The School seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable person to work in one of the Boarding Houses for all everyday maintenance issues. The post will also include assisting with such activities as cleaning, laundry, changing light fittings in areas difficult to reach and dealing with everyday maintenance issues. The essential requirements for this role are an eye for detail, the ability to work independently and to understand what preventative maintenance is, a facility with painting and basic carpentry and, importantly, physical fitness.

The role is term-time only, working Monday to Saturday (with a day off in the week) , 20 hours per week (9.00 am to - 1.00 pm ). Applicants should ultimately be flexible and able to adapt and contribute as required.

PLUMBER/HEATING ENGINEER

The Works Department has a vacancy for a full-time qualified plumber/heating engineer who will provide a high-quality and efficient general plumbing and heating repairs service. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all works are carried out on time and within the College's policies and procedures with regard to Health & Safety and maintenance.

The applicant should be a competent plumber/heating engineer ideally with extensive experience within the industry. Previous experience in using copper, iron and plastic pipe work systems is essential. Experience of working within Listed Buildings would be advantageous, as would experience with lead work and pressurised hot water systems.
