TEACHER OF MODERN LANGUAGES

The School seeks to appoint a modern linguist who is able to teach two languages from French, German, Russian and Spanish to the required level throughout the School. Applications from candidates who can offer some German or Russian are particularly encouraged. There are thirteen full-time and seven part-time members of the Modern Languages department. Appropriate housing will be provided.

The appointment will commence on 1 September 2016.

Job Description
• The successful candidate will be capable of teaching boys of high ability to Cambridge Pre-U level in at least one of their languages.
• He or she will report to the Head of Modern Languages.
• Participation in the School's cultural and/or sports programme is essential.
• All Teachers are involved in tutoring in a boarding House.

TEACHER OF CLASSICS


The School seeks to appoint a Classics graduate to teach Latin and Greek throughout the School. The appointment will commence on 1 September 2016. There are eight full-time members of the department. Appropriate housing will be provided.

RECEPTIONIST/ADMINISTRATOR - WINCHESTER COLLEGE

The Wykeham Sports Club is based at Winchester College Sports Centre. We are currently seeking a part-time Receptionist/Administrator to work on the front desk.

Strong computer skills are essential for this role, good customer service skills, and the ability to work calmly when under pressure and an approachable attitude to our customer/members. Duties will include dealing with membership and hirer enquiries, making bookings, answering the telephone, taking payments and greeting people at the desk.

The position is for 22.75 hours per week working Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 7.30 am to 2.30 pm, and alternate Sundays, 9.00 am to 2.30 pm.

Start date: As soon as possible.

TOUR ADMINISTRATOR AND EVENTS CO-ORDINATOR (PART-TIME)

The Winchester College Trading Company (Enterprises) is looking for a very well-organised person to join their team, now located in new offices in the centre of Winchester. The role includes the administration of College Tours, which are run daily throughout the year, and of a variety of events which make use of the College's unique venues and beautiful grounds; events include catered dinners and receptions, concerts, and residential groups.

This part-time role of 22.5 hours a week is an opportunity for someone with high levels of personal presentation and excellent organisational skills, combined with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. The ability to work both autonomously and as part of the team, as well as experience with facts and figures, Excel, MS Word and events management would be an advantage.

The Tour Administrator and Events Co-ordinator role is a year-round position and the working pattern will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 9.00am until 5.00pm during term-time, and 8.30am to 5.30pm during School holidays.

ASSISTANT

Winchester College is looking for a reliable person to work in a boarding house during term time only, helping in the preparation of ingredients and supporting the kitchen team in all cleaning duties. This demanding role is term-time only, working 30 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, 9.00am to 2.00pm.

The successful applicant will be encouraged to progress eventually to learn basic Level 2 preparation, and cookery, leading to a recognised qualification.

DOMESTICS (Weekend and Evenings)

Winchester College has vacancies for reliable people to work as Domestics (weekend and evenings) in several Boarding Houses, carrying out general cleaning duties and assisting in the Dining Room serving meals. The ideal candidates must be self-motivated and able to work both on their own and as part of a team, and should display a high level of integrity and attention to detail. These roles are term-time only, working various shifts, from weekends 9.00am to 2.00pm to evenings (Monday to Sunday) 5.00pm to 7.00pm.
