HR SECRETARY/ADMINISTRATOR

The School seeks to appoint a full-time, experienced HR Secretary/Administrator to work as part of the Winchester College Bursary secretariat.

Applicants should be interested in HR and have good interpersonal skills, be well organised and able to communicate effectively at all levels, and have excellent proof-reading skills. The successful applicant will have extensive administrative and secretarial experience, including, data base entry and report writing. Advanced skills in MS Word and intermediate skills in Excel and PowerPoint are essential.

LAUNDRY DRIVER/ASSISTANT

An opportunity has arisen for a reliable person to work for the College Laundry, mainly during term-time, assisting with the collection of laundry across the Campus, and also supporting in other laundry processes. This work will involve lifting heavy bags. The post is for an average of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 2.00pm and alternate Saturdays, 7.00am to 12.00pm. Applicants must have held a full clean UK driving licence for a minimum of four years or more.

HEAD CHEF

The College currently has a term-time-only Boarding House Head Chef vacancy. The successful applicant, who will be responsible for preparing meals from fresh ingredients for about 60 covers, will have a sound understanding of nutrition and kitchen hygiene. Qualified to NVQ3 (or equivalent), he/she should have experience in menu-planning, stock-control and budgeting, and should be happy to work as part of a team. This role is term-time-only, working 40 hours per week Monday to Sunday.

HANDYPERSONS (2)

The School seeks to appoint enthusiastic and reliable people to work in two of the Boarding Houses, completing everyday maintenance tasks and supporting the cleaning teams in their duties. The essential requirements for this role are an eye for detail, the ability to work independently, an understanding of what preventative maintenance is, a facility with painting and basic carpentry and, importantly, the stamina to complete demanding outdoor and indoor tasks.

The role is term-time only, working Monday to Saturday, 17 hours per week. Applicants should ultimately be flexible and able to adapt and contribute as required.

Handypersons currently working in this field are encouraged to apply for these posts.

There is a possibility that these two posts may be combined but this would need to be discussed at interview.

DOMESTICS (Weekend and Evenings)

Winchester College has vacancies for reliable people to work as Domestics (weekend and evenings) in several Boarding Houses, carrying out general cleaning duties and assisting in the Dining Room serving meals. The ideal candidates must be self-motivated and able to work both on their own and as part of a team, and should display a high level of integrity and attention to detail. These roles are term-time only, working various shifts, from weekends 9.00am to 2.00pm to evenings (Monday to Sunday) 5.00pm to 7.00pm.
