CLEANING SERVICES MANAGER - WINCHESTER COLLEGE

The School seeks to appoint a full-time, experienced Manager who will be responsible for all aspects of cleaning within the Boarding Houses.

Applicants should have good interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively at all levels and be diplomatic and well organised. The successful applicant will be expected to provide leadership, support and guidance to the cleaning teams, develop strategies which seek to deliver improvements in quality, efficiency, effectiveness and standards and to establish partnerships with suppliers in order to achieve the best possible prices and supply arrangements.

WEEKEND KITCHEN ASSISTANT (part-time)

Winchester College is looking for a reliable person to work in a boarding house during term time only, helping in the preparation of ingredients and supporting the kitchen team in all cleaning duties. This demanding role is term-time only, working 17 hours per week, Saturday to Monday.

The successful applicant will be encouraged to progress eventually to learn basic Level 2 preparation, and cookery, leading to a recognised qualification.

ASSISTANT CHEF (30 hours)

Winchester College seeks to appoint an Assistant Chef to work in a boarding house during term time, preparing meals from fresh ingredients for about 60-65 covers. The successful applicant will have a sound understanding of nutrition and kitchen hygiene. Qualified/experienced to at least NVQ2 (or equivalent), he/she should have experience in menu and nutritional planning and, importantly, be prepared to work as part of a team. This post is for 30 hours/week which will be worked over a 5 day rota over 7 days.

DOMESTICS (Weekend and Evenings)

Winchester College has vacancies for reliable people to work as Domestics (weekend and evenings) in several Boarding Houses, carrying out general cleaning duties and assisting in the Dining Room serving meals. The ideal candidates must be self-motivated and able to work both on their own and as part of a team, and should display a high level of integrity and attention to detail. These roles are term-time only, working various shifts, from weekends 9.00am to 2.00pm to evenings (Monday to Sunday) 5.00pm to 7.00pm.

RESIDENT HOUSEKEEPER/MATRON (EXCELLENT SALARY AND BENEFITS)

Winchester College has a vacancy for a Resident Housekeeper/Matron. Founded by Royal Charter in 1382, Winchester remains one of England's premier independent schools, with a firmly established and enviable reputation. It has 700 pupils accommodated in eleven boarding houses and 350 full-time equivalent employees. Working collaboratively with the Housemaster, the Housekeeper/Matron is accountable for the pastoral care and well-being of up to 65 boys aged 13-18 years. He/she must have an adaptable professional approach in order to manage the House, House Surgery, domestic staff and everything from supply ordering to the upkeep of accounts. He/she also liaises with parents and the School's Medical Centre on medical and welfare matters and must be fully prepared to respond to emergencies. A full clean driving licence and a car of his/her own are essential.

The appointment will commence on 1 January 2016 with induction weekends desirable in December 2015 with the current Housekeeper/Matron.
