TEACHER OF PHYSICS

The School seeks to appoint a Physics or Engineering graduate to teach Physics throughout the School. The appointment will commence on 1 September 2015. There are eight full-time members of the department and two full-time technicians. Appropriate housing will be provided.

ART TECHNICIAN

The School seeks to appoint an enthusiastic person who will be able to assist and support the teaching staff in the smooth running of the successful and vibrant Art Department. This will include the monitoring of Health & Safety, helping in the organisation of exhibitions/workshops/events and supervising pupils when the department is open during free time. Technician duties will, in the main but not exclusively, be in the sculpture and paint studios, but, as this is a busy department, days may vary accordingly. FOOD DISTRIBUTION & CATERING ASSISTANT

Winchester College is seeking a responsible and organised person to work as part of an in-house team, providing a food distribution service and assisting the Catering team to maintain the cleanliness of the College Kitchen and its equipment. A full UK Driving Licence is essential, and applicants must be aged 25 years or over (for motor insurance purposes) and be physically fit enough to cope with the demands of the job. These will include the lifting and moving of catering equipment and supplies around the College, and there may also be a need to move some heavy items in order to set up for events. This is a term-time only post with 39 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, 12 noon to 7.00pm.

RECREATION ASSISTANT (LIFEGUARD)

Winchester College seeks to appoint a Recreation Assistant to join the team at the PE Centre, working as term-time only Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard). The successful candidate will be involved in all key aspects of the operational services in the Swimming Pool and Reception areas. A National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided if required.

The weekday hours, 18 in all, will be from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Weekend working will consist of 6 hours and will be from 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm on Saturdays, and from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon on Sundays.

The Warden's Lodgings team is looking for someone who knows how to deliver a high standard of customer care in a private house. Duties include service to table, cleaning and caring for guests. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and able to work both on their own and as part of a team, and should display a high level of integrity and attention to detail

WEEKEND KITCHEN ASSISTANT (part-time)

Winchester College is looking for a reliable person to work in a boarding house during term time only, helping in the preparation of ingredients and supporting the kitchen team in all cleaning duties. This demanding role is term-time only, working 17 hours per week, Saturday to Monday.

The successful applicant will be encouraged to progress eventually to learn basic Level 2 preparation, and cookery, leading to a recognised qualification.

ASSISTANT CHEF

Winchester College seeks to appoint an Assistant Chef to work in a boarding house during term time, preparing meals from fresh ingredients for about 60-65 covers. The successful applicant will have a sound understanding of nutrition and kitchen hygiene. Qualified/experienced to at least NVQ2 (or equivalent), he/she should have experience in menu and nutritional planning and, importantly, be prepared to work as part of a team. This post is for 31.5 hours/week which will be worked over a 5 day rota over 7 days.

RELIEF MATRON

Winchester College has a vacancy for a responsible person to work as Relief Matron in a boarding house. The post will be tenable during term-time only, and involves working with boys aged 13-18 during one duty per week, covering ‘surgeries’ and meals, and including one night on call.  No formal nursing or medical training is required and meals will be provided whilst on duty.
