ASSISTANT TO HEADMASTER'S SECRETARY - Term-time only

The School seeks to make an appointment to the position of Assistant to the Headmaster's Secretary. The successful applicant will need to have excellent administrative and interpersonal skills, absolute confidentiality and superb time management.

An advanced ability in MS Word and intermediate skills in Excel and Powerpoint, together with a working knowledge of databases, will be essential.

This is a term-time only position, with hours of work from 8.00am to 1.00pm, Monday to Friday.

RECREATION ASSISTANT (LIFEGUARD) - Full-time

Winchester College has a full-time vacancy to join the team at the PE Centre, working as a Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard). The successful candidate will need to be flexible, reliable and a team player and will be involved in all key aspects of operational services across all areas of the PE Centre, including Fitness Room, Sports Hall, Pool and Reception. A National Pool Lifeguard qualification with a Level 2 Fitness Certificate is essential; however, training will be provided if necessary.

The permanent post will be worked over a seven-day shift pattern, working 40 hours, with a requirement for at least one weekend per month.

CLEANER

Winchester College has a permanent vacancy for a Cleaner in the Central Cleaning Department. The work will involve general cleaning, and the successful candidate can expect to be deployed in various locations across the main campus. Driving licence preferred, but not essential. Hours: Monday to Friday 7.00am to 2pm and Saturday 7.00am to 9.30am, 35 hours/week, 52 weeks.

TOURS ADMINISTRATOR AND EVENTS CO-ORDINATOR (PART-TIME)

The Winchester College Trading Company (Enterprises) is looking for a very well-organised person to join their team, now located in new offices in the centre of Winchester. The role includes the administration of College Tours, which are run daily throughout the year, and of a variety of events which make use of the College's unique venues and beautiful grounds; events include catered dinners and receptions, concerts, and residential groups.

This part-time role of 22.5 hours a week (worked over 3 days) is an opportunity for someone with high levels of personal presentation and excellent organisational skills, combined with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. The ability to work both autonomously and as part of the team, as well as experience with facts and figures, Excel, MS Word and events management would be an advantage.

The Tours Administrator and Events Co-ordinator role is a year-round position and the working pattern will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 9.00am until 5.00pm during term-time, and 8.30am to 5.30pm during School holidays.

CATERING ASSISTANT

A responsible and smart person is required to join the team is responsible for looking after the day-to-day needs of the Master-in-College, the Scholars and their guests, and also assists in the Warden's Lodgings, the Headmaster's House and any other venue in which a catered service is to be provided. Driving licence preferred, but not essential.

Ideally, the successful applicant will have had experience within the catering/hospitality industry, but this is not essential, as training can be provided.

Owing to the nature of the historical buildings throughout the College, the postholder will be expected to be able to meet the reasonable physical demands of the post.

Nominal working hours are 40 hours per week throughout the year. Weekend and evening work will routinely be expected.

DOMESTICS (Weekend and Evenings)

Winchester College has vacancies for reliable people to work as Domestics (weekend and evenings) in several Boarding Houses, carrying out general cleaning duties and assisting in the Dining Room serving meals. The ideal candidates must be self-motivated and able to work both on their own and as part of a team, and should display a high level of integrity and attention to detail. These roles are term-time only, working various shifts, from weekends 9.00am to 2.00pm to evenings (Monday to Sunday) 5.00pm to 7.00pm.
