Teacher of Classics

The School seeks to appoint a Classics graduate to teach Latin and Greek throughout the School. The appointment will commence on 1 September 2015. There are eight full-time members of the department. Appropriate housing will be provided.

Job Description

• The appointee will be capable of teaching to Pre-U standard.
• He or she will report to the Head of Classics.
• Participation in the School’s cultural and/or sports programme is essential.
• All dons must be involved in tutoring in a boarding house.

TEAM LEADER

Within the Central Cleaning team this role will provide supervisory level support to the Facilities Manager throughout the year. The successful applicant will be required to work hands-on with the team on standard tasks and will be the designated person for evening events. EVENING CLEANERS (2)
The Central Cleaning Team has vacancies for Cleaners to carry out general cleaning in the evenings. The successful candidates will work in a variety of locations across the campus. These posts are on a rolling shift pattern, working 4 days on and 4 days off, and will include weekends. ASSISTANT HOUSEKEEPER
The Warden's Lodgings team is looking for someone who knows how to deliver a high standard of customer care in a private house. Duties include service to table, cleaning and caring for guests. CHAMBERPERSON
The Scholars Boarding House (College) has a vacancy for a reliable Domestic to carry out general cleaning duties. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and able to work both on their own and as part of a team, and should display a high level of integrity and attention to detail. DOMESTICS (Weekend and Evenings)
Winchester College has vacancies for reliable people to work as Domestics (weekend and evenings) in several Boarding Houses, carrying out general cleaning duties and assisting in the Dining Room serving meals. The ideal candidates must be self-motivated and able to work both on their own and as part of a team, and should display a high level of integrity and attention to detail. HEAD CHEF
The College has currently two term-time-only Boarding House Head Chef vacancies. The successful applicants, who will be responsible for preparing meals from fresh ingredients for about 60 covers, will have a sound understanding of nutrition and kitchen hygiene. Qualified to NVQ3 (or equivalent), they should have experience in menu-planning, stock-control and budgeting, and should be happy to work as part of a team. FOOD DISTRIBUTION & CATERING ASSISTANT
Winchester College is seeking a responsible and organised person to work as part of an in-house team, providing a food distribution service and assisting the Catering team to maintain the cleanliness of the College Kitchen and its equipment. A full UK Driving Licence is essential, and applicants must be aged 25 years or over (for motor insurance purposes) and be physically fit enough to cope with the demands of the job. These will include the lifting and moving of catering equipment and supplies around the College, and there may also be a need to move some heavy items in order to set up for events. This is a term-time only post with 39 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, 12 noon to 7.00pm.
