Cross Country
![]() |
The Cross Country Club operates primarily in Common Time, although the Inter House Steeplechase competition takes place towards the end of Short Half. There is usually a warm weather pre-season training trip to Club La Santa, in Lanzarote, just before Christmas each year. This trip is open to all age groups and we usually take 15-20 boys away for one week's training.

Matches
These normally take place on Thursdays or Saturdays. Most fixtures are open to all who want to compete or take part, although several races & relays require team selection. We also take part in the County Championships and there are opportunities to run at the highest level, if this is your ambition.
House Competition
The Inter-House Steeplechase takes place at the end of Short Half. There are three races and they are for Junior (1st years), Inter (1st-3rd years) and Sen (2nd- 5th year).
Numbers Involved
The cross country squad has 30-40 regular runners. Inter-House Steeplechases usually field about 150 - 200 boys in each race.
