OLD - Wilfred

Former pupil

In my boarding house, the first year boys start in rooms of four. This made it easy to get to know people quickly. They swap roommates every term, so that by the end of the first year, you will have shared a room with most people in your house year.

In our GCSE year, the dorm sizes are now rooms of two. In the first year, most pupils tend to return home a lot. But as you move up through the years, you become more independent and don’t feel the need to go home as much.

Weekends, even though there is still chapel and Saturday classes, feel much more like a normal weekend than you would expect. The atmosphere is much more light-hearted and people take trips in to town to the cinema and shops.
