OW Badminton vs. 1st VIII takes place on Wykeham Day in the Sports Hall at 2pm. Parents of pupils or OWs are invited to email [email protected] if they are interested in playing for the OW VIII. Spaces available.

Wykeham Day and charitable endeavour have long gone hand in hand, and this year is no exception.
This Wykeham Day, the school will come together for acts of endurance, quizzing and teamwork, all in aid of Winchester Hospice.
The houses will all compete in a competition with a wonderful twist: every contribution earns a house a sticker on their giant canvas, gradually revealing a specially commissioned (and duly sanctioned) sketch of their Housemaster. The more a house puts in, the more their sketch comes to life in full colour.
Everyone is warmly welcome to join in, whether you fancy having a go, cheering others on, or simply coming to see how the canvases are taking shape.
All funds raised go directly to Winchester Hospice, who provide specialist palliative and end-of-life care to people across our local community, supporting not just patients, but their families too, and ensuring that no one faces their journey alone.
The goal is to raise £5,500, and every donation counts. With your support, we can help keep Winchester Hospice there for the people of Winchester for years to come.
Wykeham Day this year promises two wonderful occasions, and we would be delighted to welcome you to either or both.
At 11.15am in Hunter Tent, we will be unveiling plaques in honour of two distinguished Old Wykehamists: Douglas Jardine (Winchester, Oxford, Surrey and England) and the Nawab of Pataudi (Winchester, Oxford, Sussex and India). Addresses will be given by Bill Holland and John Greenall before Lords take to the pitch against the OWs, a fitting backdrop for such a celebration.
Later in the afternoon, at 2.30pm, we will be marking the restoration of the Rackets Courts, including a rehang of the photograph gallery. Addresses will be given by Alan Lovell and Chris Snell, followed by an exhibition match on Court 2.

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Ms Tammy Parks, our first Head of US and International Universities.
Ms Parks joins us from Emanuel School in London, and has a wealth of experience in both UK schools and the private university counselling sector, as well as a Master’s degree from NYU; she previously worked as the Assistant Director of Financial Aid and Admissions at Fordham College in New York.
She will offer a comprehensive service to families, covering all aspects of international universities from initial exploration to profile-building, college choice, financial aid, essay writing, application, and results day. She has previously worked with pupils at Wellington College, Westminster School, Radley College, Queen’s Gate School, and St Mary’s School Ascot.
Her advisees have gained successful entry to University of Chicago, UCLA, UPenn, Brown, Yale, Stanford, New York University, Columbia, and more.
The Jun section of this year’s Rendall Pot Swimming Competition got off to a thrilling start last Friday, with Phil’s claiming top spot on 120 points, ahead of Toye’s (109) and Beloe’s (89) in a competitive field.
In the JP Victor Ludorum, Summer (B) took the title in a remarkably close race, with fewer than three points separating the top three finishers. Bobby (G) and Humphrey (E) completed the podium in second and third respectively.
In the individual events, Jihan (Coll.) won the 100m Freestyle, Summer got his second win of the day with the 50m Freestyle, Bobby (G) the 50m Breaststroke, Christopher (I) the 50m Backstroke, and Humphrey (E) turned in a superb double, winning both the 50m Butterfly and the 100m Individual Medley.

Two of our VIBk:2 Music Scholars, Coen (G) and Winston (Coll.) , travelled to London on Friday, 5th June, to give a lunchtime recital at the National Musicians’ Church, a remarkable achievement for pupils of their age.
Coen’s solo piano programme opened with Franck’s dazzling Prélude, Chorale et Fugue, followed by Kapustin’s jazz-influenced Concert Etude No. 1. Winston began with Kit Turnbull’s Oscillation, whose extended playing techniques were beautifully complemented by the resonant acoustic of Holy Sepulchre Church, before closing the concert with a superb performance of Poulenc’s Clarinet Sonata, accompanied by Nick Salwey on the church’s newly acquired Steinway Model D Concert Grand.
The Music-at-Hill concert series regularly features conservatoire students and professional musicians, making this a real honour, and one that had to be earned. Both boys were runners-up in this year’s Concerto Competition, which led to the invitation. The audience and promoter were so impressed that Winchester has been invited to return next year.

For anyone who is interested in wine, how it is made and marketed…
To coincide with ‘English Wine Week’, we have teamed up with an award-winning Hampshire vineyard, Candover Brook, where exceptional sparkling wine is crafted through regenerative viticulture.
The evening will feature a short film followed by a Q&A with co-founder and owner Mark Sainsbury (of the supermarket family); Candover Brook’s wine grower, Samuel Philippot; and the Director of Farming of the Sainsbury estates, Craig Livingstone.
Musical accompaniment in the gardens will be provided by our very own Mr. Matt King.
