Reading Amateur Regatta

Reading Amateur Regatta is a 1000m side by side race. The Development 4x raced the Open 4x category in the morning, in a straight final against the Army, they had a convincing lead winning by 4 lengths.

In the afternoon they raced in the School / Junior 4x category. They raced Oundle in the semi final, Oundle lead off the start but Wincoll had a great finish from the 300m mark winning by a canvas, putting them in the final against Reading Rowing Club.

The final was a great race with both crews neck and neck throughout, Wincoll just beat them across the line by half a canvas.

A fantastic day of racing for the 4x. (Sacha, VI2 E), (Richard, V Book A), (Elliot, V Book X), (Vitt, MP G)

Calling all Wine lovers…

Wednesday 24th June

For anyone who is interested in wine, how it is made and marketed…

To coincide with ‘English Wine Week’, we have teamed up with an award-winning Hampshire vineyard, Candover Brook, where exceptional sparkling wine is crafted through regenerative viticulture.

The evening will feature a short film followed by a Q&A with co-founder and owner Mark Sainsbury (of the supermarket family); Candover Brook’s wine grower, Samuel Philippot; and the Director of Farming of the Sainsbury estates, Craig Livingstone.

Musical accompaniment in the gardens will be provided by our very own Mr. Matt King.
