Winchester College | Independent Boarding School

Admissions

Joining in Sixth Form (16+)

Winchester College Sixth Form offers both day and boarding options for boys and girls, including the introduction of purpose-built girls’ boarding houses from September 2026.

Winchester College encourages Sixth Form registrations when pupils are in Years 10 and 11 with the first round of assessments scheduled in November of Year 11. If your child has missed the first round, their registration will be added to a waiting list, with applicants assessed only as places become available. The registration fee is applicable for both first round applicants and those wishing to be added to the waiting list. If you would like to discuss your child’s circumstances prior to registration, please contact [email protected], +44 1 962 621 247.

SEPT – Your life at Winchester College begins

Your Housemaster or Housemistress will welcome you and be your main point of contact throughout your time at Winchester.

In the first few weeks of term, pupils will have a full schedule of activities every day so that you can learn about what is on offer at Winchester and can start to form friendships.

We understand the importance of your first day, week, month, and term with us. The House teams, dons (teachers), and support staff devote time and care to ensure that each pupil settles in and has a happy, successful experience at Winchester.
