Winchester College

Royal Geographical Society Lecture

Roger Smith delivered an inspirational lecture (on Mallory and Irvine and their doomed attempt on Everest in 1924) to the local branch of the RGS, and members of the College. The lecture covered the technical aspects of organising and leading a mountaineering expedition, the Geography of the Nepalese Himalayas, as well as the history of Irvine and Mallory's 1924 attempt.
