Moberly Library
Moberly Library (MobLib) is the School’s main library. It stocks all subjects but leaves specialist books in the sciences to the
Science Library.
There are three rooms in the library:
Blackwell Room
On the left as you reach the entrance foyer. Contains all the fiction and is a reading room.
Makins Room
On the right of the entrance foyer. This is a computer room and a discussion area and has the first part of the non-fiction book sequence. There is also a scanner, a colour photocopier and a black and white photocopier which doubles as a printer. An on-line catalogue is available.
Brewery
This is accessed through the Makins Room. It is in the oldest part of the School and contains most of the books, the periodicals, the games of Chess and Go and is the quietest part of the library. An on-line catalogue is available. The room is named after its original purpose. A few years ago The Friends of Winchester College produced a leaflet on the
history of the Brewery.
The library has a comprehensive collection of electronic subscription databases. There are also links to other useful on-line resources.
