We Will Remember Them
We are fast approaching the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. Five hundred Old Wykehamists lost their lives in the conflict at a time when the pupil body was just four hundred and fifty. Discover why this Via Sacra, found within the precincts of the College and considered by some to be the most beautiful in Britain, was so controversial in the making. What, or who, connects this spiritual War Cloister with New Delhi, Pretoria and the Bank of England? Take your time to admire the fine architecture, sculpture, heraldry and symbolism of War Cloister.
