Founded in 1382 Winchester College is believed to be the oldest continuously running school in the country. Our guided tours concentrate on the mediaeval heart of the College, and include Chamber Court; the 14th century Gothic Chapel, with one of the earliest examples of a wooden vaulted roof; College Hall, the original Scholars' dining room; School, the seventeenth century redbrick schoolroom and the original mediaeval cloister.

Open: For individuals and small groups, walk in tours lasting approximately one hour and are available all year except Christmas and New Year on:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday: 10.45 am, 12 noon, 2.15 pm & 3.30 pm
Tuesday, Thursday: 10.45 am 12 noon
Sunday: 2.15 pm & 3.30 pm

Unfortunately, due to events taking place within the College grounds, the following tours in 2010 have been cancelled:

Sunday 28 February - no tours all day
Saturday 27 March - 14:15 & 15:30 tours
Saturday 10 April - 14:15 & 15:30 tours
Saturday 29 May - 14:15 & 15:30 tours
Saturday 10 July - 14:15 & 15:30 tours
Saturday 17 July - 14:15 & 15:30 tours 
Saturday 24 July - 14:15 & 15:30 tours
Saturday 31 July - 12:00, 14:15 & 15:30 tours
Saturday 7 August - 14:15 & 15:30 tours
Saturday 14 August - 14:15 & 15:30 tours
Saturday 28 August - 14:15 & 15:30 tours

A few venues will be in use at certain times throughout the year and therefore will not feature as part of the tours:

Mon 10 May - Wed 30 June 2010 - School will be in use for exams
Thurs 8 July 2010 - Chapel will not feature in the 10:45 tour and War cloister will not feature in the 14:15 and 15:30 tours

Group tours for parties of 10+ must be booked in advance.

Admission: Adults £4.00; students and senior citizens £3.50; free to Friends of Winchester College on production of membership card.

There is limited wheelchair access.
