Short Half 2017

Gaitskell

Sir Peter Jay, former Ambassador to the United States
Mr Anthony Howard

The Gaitskell Politics Society meets three or four times per term and invites politicians and senior public figures to give formal lectures to both pupils and the wider public.

The lectures usually begin at 1900 and last about an hour including questions. Our guests normally then dine with the Headmaster and invited senior pupils.

In the last couple of years our guest speakers have included: Lords Tebbit, Janner and Adonis, Sir John Scarlett, Sir Jock Stirrup, Ed Vaizey MP, Francis Maude MP, Count Tolstoy, Professor Richard Aldrich (International Relations at Warwick University), Nick Gibb and Baroness Pauline Neville-Jones. Notices for future events will be posted around School in the normal places, in Short Roll and on the Friends web site.

In addition the don in charge holds informal political seminars on current events with the boys.
