FREEMAN DYSON OW (Coll 1936-1941), the world-renowned mathematician, visited the College recently. The photographs show him viewing the polyhedral models he made as a schoolboy seventy-five years ago and rediscovering Jordan’s Cours d’Analyse from which he taught himself the theory of infinitesimals. During his visit a copy of Hardy’s Principia Mathematica (which has Dyson’s annotations and corrections) was found in College. Dyson believes the book was donated to College by Frank Ramsey (Coll 1915-1920), another OW mathematical genius.
