BIBLE EXHIBITION

The exhibition mounted to celebrate the four hundredth anniversary of the publication of the King James Bible, open from 20 August to 25 September, has closed. Much of the translation work for the New Testament of the KJB was carried out by scholars resident in the College, notably Warden John Harmar. A first edition of the KJB was the central object of the exhibition, surrounded by many other books used in the work of translation, all held in the Fellows' Library. Over three thousand people viewed the exhibition, including scholars of international repute. Donations of books from admiring viewers were received in the course of the exhibition.
